I’ve been involved in

Fitness since i was 3!

Hello I’m Stephen. Yes, I know, I’m punching well above my weight with Karen, ha-ha!

I started off playing football/ soccer until I was around 24. I played professionally for a year, then got released at the age of 18. After soccer, I got an apprenticeship as an electrician. I worked as an electrician for four years before getting a promotion to electrical estimator. During this time, I enquired about being a personal trainer in my local gym, but was talked out of it because it’s not a sustainable income, so I decided against that idea.

I worked as an estimator for 2 years and I then moved to Australia on a working holiday, travelling through South East Asia on route. I travelled through Australia and New Zealand for the next two years before settling in Brisbane.

At this point, I was really starting to resent being an electrician and I eventually thought “f*** this” and quit my job and started my Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness.

WHAT A GREAT DECISION!

Although I’ve been involved in construction for a while, I’m not new to the fitness industry. I’ve been training in the gym for over 15 years. My goals when I started were to get stronger and faster for football. After that, my training developed into managing weight after stopping full time football, which proved to be a challenge. I then tried some crazy ways to get into shape, including the usual suspects, cutting carbs, juice diets and high fat before learning that the simple things work best.

My

Qualifications

  • Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness

  • Muscle Nerds Program Design

  • Muscle Nerds Level 1

  • Kilo Strength Program Design

  • Precision Nutrition Level 1

  • Crossfit Level 1

It’s through all these experiences that have developed me as a coach today. I can understand and see the problems that arise, and feel like I have a duty to help others on their journey.

My training now consists mainly of functional movement. I’ve been doing Crossfit for around two years now and I absolutely love it, although I know it’s not for everyone. I have recently started Ju-Jitsu as well which has been fun to learn, although I get choked out every week at the moment, that’s not so fun. My main goals are lifestyle related. I want to live until I’m 110 years old. I don’t just want to live, I want to be thriving at 110 years old, and I want to help you do that as well. There is so much life to live!

The way I program and coach my clients is all about finding things that work for them.

For example, I could write you the best 5-day program ever, but you can only go to the gym for 4 days, it’s not the best program for you! At the start there’s a lot of communication involved. I want you to ask me questions. Question everything. There will ALWAYS be a reason why something is in your program, so just ask me. I also understand that I won’t be with you forever, so I want to teach you what I know so you can take it and use it in future. I’m all about educating you as much as possible. Everyone is different, let’s find something that works for you!
